Description

Wallpaper Changer is a simple Windows program that randomly changes the user's desktop wallpaper whenever it is run. From all BMP and JPG images in the specified directory it randomly selects one and sets it as an active wallpaper.

Usage

The program accepts one command line parameter. It's the directory where the program is to select the wallpaper from. If the path contains spaces enclose it double quotes.

The program does not resize the picture nor changes the position of the wallpaper (it remains set as before - centered, tiled or stretched).

  1. Place the exe file anywhere on you hard drive.
  2. Create a shortcut to the exe file.
  3. In the shortcut modify the Target line by adding, as a command line parameter, the path to the pictures intended as potential wallpapers
  4. Place the shortcut in the Startup folder of Start menu - this way the wallpaper will change on every log in.
  5. Schedule the run of Wallpaper Changer for repeated periodic runs in Control panel's Scheduled jobs applet  - this way the wallpaper will change even in case of long term log in.

Note:

If the command line parameter is omitted the program's main directory is taken as the source of possible wallpapers.

Example (run command):

"C:\Program Files\WallpaperChanger.exe" "C:\Documents and Settings\User1\My Documents\My Pictures\Wallpapers"
